Infertility Diagnostic and Treatment Services

The Reproductive Care Center (RCC) offers the full spectrum of infertility diagnostic and treatment techniques.  Our fertility specialists have completed extensive advanced training, and have held many prestigious positions at major medical schools, in the field of reproductive endocrinology and infertility. They offer unmatched training and experience in techniques such as in vitro fertilization and its associated micromanipulation techniques, like intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) and preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD).

The majority of patients achieve pregnancy without the need for advanced reproductive technologies, such as IVFIntrauterine insemination (IUI) employing oral ovulation enhancing agents, such as Clomid®, (or FSH injections either alone or in conjunction with oral agents if necessary) is often a “treatment of first choice” and our program consistently produces good IUI success rates. Sometimes the correct medication is all that is needed to establish a pregnancy.

The andrology laboratory at RCC provides semen testing and semen preparation for intrauterine insemination at the request of referring physicians (does not require an initial consultation with an RCC physician if it is done under the direction and request of the referring physician). After preparation, semen samples are taken to the referring physician’s office.

A patients “treatment journey” begins with a focused yet comprehensive fertility evaluation employing the latest tests and techniques. The male will also be evaluated given that half of all couples have a male infertility component.

Once, after comprehensive fertility testing, the cause(s) of a couple’s infertility is determined, our fertility specialists develop a treatment plan specific to each couple. When IVF is indicated, we have one of the most successful programs in the country.

The parent of all of today's assisted reproductive technologies is In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). Formerly, IVF or the "test tube baby" process was the final hope for couples who had exhausted all other infertility treatments. Over a decade of research and clinical application have changed IVF from a one size-fits-all treatment to a menu of assisted reproductive technologies (ART).

It is now possible, after an infertility evaluation has been completed, and if conventional treatments have failed, to tailor the advanced treatment to the particular needs of the couple, in order to maximize success. The assisted reproductive technologies now encompass office based IVF, (ICSI) intracytoplasmic sperm injection, testicular sperm aspiration (TESE), embryo freezing, the use of donor eggs, and laboratory micromanipulation procedures used in conjunction with IVF. We also have an active "Donor Embryo" program for couples who cannot use their own embryos.

Sometimes couples wish to have a child of a particular gender. Several genetic diseases, such as hemophilia, are "sex linked" meaning they can only occur in a child of a particular gender. Using gender selection, only the unaffected sex embryos are transferred into the uterus. Some couple employ gender selection for "family balancing" to enjoy raising children of each sex.

We also help couples who have experienced the pain and disappointment of recurrent miscarriage. We employ the latest techniques, such as PGD, to help ensure a healthy pregnancy. We can conduct a complete evaluation aimed at discovering the root cause of miscarriage. We may conduct this evaluation in conjunction with a maternal fetal medicine specialist if indicated.

Oftentimes, surgery is needed to correct/treat diseases such as endometriosis or uterine abnormalities. Our fertility specialists have extensive advanced training in advanced laparoscopic surgical techniques. Most surgical procedures can be completed as a outpatient through the laparoscope greatly reducing pain and recovery time.

Our entire staff is devoted to helping couples conceive in a pleasant and compassionate setting. If you would like more information, please don’t hesitate to call, 1-801-878-8888, or contact us via e-mail.
