James Heiner, MD

Dr James Heiner, Board Certified Infertility Specialist, Reproductive Endocrinologist is the founder of the Reproductive Care Center, the first private practice infertility and IVF clinic in the state of Utah which serves patients from Utah, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.

Undergraduate

He majored in Microbiology at BYU and studied Biochemistry at the University of Utah

Doctorate

Earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston (UTMB) in 1985

Residency

He then completed a four year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at UTMB. During this time he served as chief administrative resident and was honored with the “Good as Gold” award for superior patient care.

Fellowship

Dr. Heiner then completed a Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at UCLA and Cedars-Sinai Medical Centers in Los Angeles completing the program in 1991

Faculty Member & Director

Dr Heiner served as a full time faculty member at UCLA until 1996. While there he served as the acting director of the Fellowship Program in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and was also the director of the fertility clinic and endoscopy surgical services for the Department of OB/GYN at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.

Founded RCC

Dr Heiner then moved to his home town of Salt Lake City Utah to establish the first private IVF practice in the state and he was the first board certified infertility specialist in private practice in Utah. Dr Heiner is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.

Dr Heiner’s goal is to deliver the highest quality fertility care, employing a very caring and competent staff and the latest available techniques and technologies. Dr Heiner was born in Salt Lake City, Utah; he has also lived in Little Rock, Arkansas; Montreal, Canada; Southern California; Provo, Utah; Paris, France ( 2 years as a missionary); and Galveston, Texas.

Dr Heiner has been happily married to Ranae Lake since 1978, and they have six children and many grandchildren. In addition to patient care and family life, Dr. Heiner loves sports, exercise, and outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, biking, fishing, photography, and travel.
