Kristi Maas, MD

Dr. Kristi Maas is a double Board Certified Infertility Specialist in Reproductive Endocrinology and Obstetrics and Gynecology and serves patients at our Sandy, Utah location.

Dr. Maas shares that one of the most fulfilling parts of her job (besides the positive pregnancy tests) is helping to educate patients about their reproduction and empowering them to make the right decisions for themselves.

Undergraduate / Masters

Dr Maas earned an Honors Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Engineering and Masters of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Utah.

Doctorate

Earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine in 2005.

Residency

Completed a four year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Maine Medical Center - Tufts University School of Medicine and completed Visiting Residencies in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Colorado - Denver and at Boston IVF / Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Fellowship / Clinical Fellowship

Dr. Maas completed a three year Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center / Boston IVF. She was also a Clinical Fellow in Gynecology and Reproductive Biology at Harvard Medical School.

Outstanding Achievement & Publications

Dr Maas received numerous academic and merit based scholarships throughout her academic career. She has published many professional papers on a variety of infertility topics.

Career

Dr. Maas practiced as a private Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility specialist in San Diego area for 5 years before moving to Utah to provide care for patients in the Rocky Mountain area. She is excited to bring her prior training and experiences back to her roots and care for the population where she grew up and completed her education.

Dr. Maas loves working with patients to tailor care to each individual case and uses her diverse experiences to meticulously plan treatment. She prides herself as a patient advocate and educator.  Her engineering background has honed her attention to detail and she uses clinical data and statistics to counsel her patients regarding all available treatment options.

In her free time, you can find Dr. Maas and her husband and dogs on the trails running, hiking, or skiing. She loves to travel and experience new foods and cultures. Dr. Maas has served on multiple medical missions in South America and Africa. She is a fierce animal advocate and has volunteered at multiple rescues and shelters.

Dr. Maas grew up in Wyoming and is excited to provide care to patients in the Mountain West. She recalls that many individuals in her hometown had to travel for specialized medical care. As a result, she is enthusiastic to be able to provide care to patients in the Salt Lake Valley and in rural Rocky Mountain areas. She feels that all patients should have access to care, regardless of location or background.
